With Apologies to Chocolate...
Oh dear lord. What have we done? Why did we do this to ourselves?
All I know is that I woke up this morning with a serious headache from the drinks, and a killer toothache from the sugars. ugh. We won't be doing THAT again... until next month.
So, we never did find a recipe from Sao Tome, so we decided to make Whoopie Pies! They're chocolate, so we figured that would be ok... it's cheating, but only a little.
It was a disaster.

Ruining chocolate one island at a time...
So, here we are - FRIDAY! That means it's drunk baking day, and boy, are we ever excited!
Last week, Robyn enlisted the help of her boyfriend Chris to choose a place for Alison to sniff out a recipe from. There was no globe handy, but there was a map of the world kicking around, so Robyn and Chris just improvised. As Robyn kept her eyes closed, Chris moved the map around until Robyn said 'STOP!', and then jabbed her finger onto the page. And lo and behold, she landed HERE!
Chris scoffed and said that she should try again, as no one would know where that was, and really, for the first Drunk Bake the World, we should be baking from somewhere recognizable. But, being the stubborn snotface that she is, Robyn said no. Rules are rules!
lo and behold, Sao Tome is home to some of the world's best chocolate! In fact, Sao Tome is known as "Chocolate Island"! Now if that's not just a fanfreakintastic coincidence, I don't know what is! And so... we will obviously be baking with chocolate tonight, but our recipe is yet to be determined.
Guess you're just going to have to wait and see what we come up with.

Four
Four more sleeps until the First Leg of our World Tour begins!
And so, I guess we should be throwing some hints your way, eh? Something to whet your appetite (don't worry, we'll ruin that appetite in short order) for the exotic...
On Friday, we will be baking something from a place that is far to the East of where we were this summer. A place that is very, very small, but has a HUGE responsibility for a very precious commodity in the baking world.
A place where PMS could not exist.

Aloha, Bonjour, and Hello!
WELCOME TO DRUNK BAKING THE WORLD!
Two freaks known as Ali and Robyn have decided to enlighten your minds with adventure. We will be bringing you around the world, as we drink ourselves into oblivion and then bake "tasty" exotic treats solely for your amusement.
Once a month we will guzzle down country-specific liquor, and then fire up the oven to create a bastardized version of a country-specific something that is most likely quite yummy when made soberly.
Our next excursion will be on NOVEMBER 26th, and we will post photos the following day... hopefully.
So, stay tuned... during the next few days, we will keep you posted with some random trivia to hint at what country's dessert we will be destroying in a drunken free-for-all next Friday.
Again, WELCOME TO DRUNK BAKING THE WORLD, we are pleased to be your attendants for this trip. Now please fasten your seat belts, move your seats and tray tables to the upright position, and assume the crash position. It's about to get turbulent.
